Weeks turn into months…

The tiny package that arrived just two months ago has turned into a substantial little person. There is still more sleeping than wakefulness, which the rest of the family is enjoying very much. We are still waiting for things to change, while hoping they don’t.

Big Brother’s birthday present

My Big Brother, Cosmo, received a new camera for his birthday last week.

He has been taking lots of photos. There are some of me too!

Here we are on day six, eyes open and ready for a play. More visitors (although numbers are down on the previous birth…), lots of cuddles for all.

I don’t think Mieke even realised she was in a car today, slept all the way home (mind you, the whole journey takes about 4 minutes!).

We did find time to stop off at a café on the way, hot chocolates and raisin toast…

Cleaning up

M & S stayed in hospital for a couple of nights to rest and recover. While they were there, it was time for visits and various jobs, like having a first bath.

Meeting big brother

A busy first 24 hours of Mieke’s time on earth. Plenty of visitors today, the most excited was Big Brother Cosmo.

Remembering how to spell Mieke…

Sarah has a great tip on how to remember Mieke’s spelling.

In German (and perhaps other languages), whenever i and e are together, the second letter is the one that you take to sound from.

For example, ‘Steiner’ is Sty-ner, whereas Mieke is, mee-ka.
